Safe Horizon x SOTR

Christina has contributed to Sisters on the Runway (SOTR) at the New York Charter for Safe Horizon for the past 5 years. Safe Horizon is the largest non-profit victim services agency in the United States. Safe Horizon touches the lives of more than 250,000 children, adults, and families affected by crime and abuse throughout New York City each year.Through an annual fashion show fundraiser, Sisters on the Runway has raised awareness and over $50,000 for women and children affected by domestic violence. 1 in 3 women will experience domestic violence/ teen dating abuse in their lifetime. With sponsors like Joe Fresh, SOTR aims to raise awareness and funds for women and children currently residing in domestic violence shelters.

The benefit hosts collections from Fashion Institute of Technology and Parsons New school of Design Students which enables students to learn the importance of social responsibility by creating an exciting event open to the community. Sisters on the Runway also offers a format for high school and college students to start their fundraiser. Currently represented in New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts by numerous high schools and universities. SOTR hopes to educate our peers on the signs of domestic violence and how to find safety and support.
